How a free account earns its exports
Free is not a demonstration. You get the page grid, the index panel, Bates numbering, redaction, signatures and every preset. The one thing held back is writing the finished PDF — and three steps open it, none of which cost you money.

Colleagues, friends, anyone who files documents. Each address gets one email and its own link.

A free account is enough. You get hours and exports. If a referral starts paying, you get days of DocketBasic.

The Android and Linux builds can also be bought outright, without a subscription, from the downloads page. Neither is sold through an app store.
The trial, exactly
Three days from the moment you start, on any paid plan. Up to 3 exported or extracted PDFs in that window. A valid card is required to begin and nothing is charged until the trial ends. Cancel from your account page in one click and no charge is made.
Going over an allowance
Nothing stops working mid-filing. You will be told when you are close, and asked whether to move up a plan — the change is prorated to the day, and moving down takes effect at your next renewal.
The Android and Linux builds
Bought once, from this site, by members. DocketPro and Firm include the keys; anyone else can buy them outright. Neither build is sold through Google Play, so no store account is involved.
Questions about paying
Is the free plan really free?
Yes, and it does not expire. You keep the whole editor. Exporting is the one thing held back, and one referral who joins — free or paid — opens it.
What happens when my referral reward runs out?
You go back to the free plan as it was: everything except the export. Invite someone else, or move to a paid plan and stop thinking about it.
Can I cancel whenever I like?
Yes, from your account page, with no email to write and nobody to talk to. You keep access until the end of the period you have already paid for.
What happens to my documents if I stop paying?
Nothing, because we never had them. Your files live on your machine and in your own storage. Exported PDFs are ordinary PDFs that open anywhere, forever, with or without a subscription.
Do you offer a discount for legal aid or clinics?
Yes. Write in from an organisational address and describe what you do. Nonprofit clinics, legal aid offices and self-help centres are the reason a free tier exists at all.
Is there an annual price?
Annual billing is planned and will carry two months free. Until it appears, all three paid plans bill monthly.
How do refunds work?
In detail on the Terms of Service, sections 7 to 15. The short version: the free plan and the trial both exist so you can find out before you pay, and if something goes wrong on our side we will make it right.
